Anna Stuart - Director - Jazz, Hip Hop and Contemporary Teacher

Anna founded Queenstown School of Dance in 2006.

Anna has been dancing since age 8. She has completed examinations in RAD Ballet, American Jazz, NZ Modern Dance, Jazz Addict (Solo Seal), NZAMD Contemporary, NZAMD Hip Hop, Urban Ignition Hip Hop and BBO Tap Dance (Minor and Major Solo Seal). She opened her first dance studio 'Marlborough School of Dance' at age 15, teaching tap and jazz.

Anna is an examiner for Asia Pacific Dance Association. Examining Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop and Contemporary Dance in New Zealand, Australia and Hong Kong. Students at QSD know they are being taught syllabus work correctly with perfect technique.

Anna is an exceptional choreographer, taking home the Qtago Southlands acolade for 'Best Choreographer in a Musical' for her visionary work in Queenstown Showbiz's Chicago 2013. Since then she has choreographed Saturday Night Fever, Annie and just recently finished the non-stop dance musical Mamma Mia. Anna has also been the choreographer for Queenstown's Christmas Spectacular for ten years.

Anna is also an outstanding dancer. 2014 she sat Advanced Jazz 2 and received a scholarship for attaining the highest marks in Australasia and Hong Kong. 2015 she completed her Jazz Addict studies attaining her Solo Seal with 98marks. An awesome feat for an oldie!

But most importantly, its Anna's strive for quality that makes her a great teacher and her students of such high calibre. "I feel blessed that I can share my passion for dance with so many people".

Due to examining schedule and the high calibre of teachers, Anna primarily only teaches the little ones and the advanced students. All teachers at Queenstown School of Dance are trained personally by Anna and sit their teaching certifications. They receive ongoing support and direction throughout the year to ensure students will always receive quality teaching.

Melody Fedorsen - Ballet and Contemporary Teacher

Melody fell in love with dancing at the age of four when she first discovered her ‘twinkle toes’ in ballet class. She continued her training as a teen at a performing arts high school, where she was introduced to contemporary and jazz dance, as well as choreography. Deciding to pursue dance as a profession, Melody went on to complete a Bachelor of Fine Arts with honours in Theatre-Dance and was awarded a Dance Fund award in recognition of her talents in performance, choreography and dance teaching.

Along with over seventeen years of experience teaching ballet, jazz and contemporary dance to children of all ages and teens, Melody has had the opportunity to work with many professional dance artists and has choreographed pieces for various festivals, fundraisers and shows; her most recent work appeared in the local musical California Dreaming by NIMA Productions in 2012 and Dance Stylz 2012 to 2018!

Originally from Toronto, Canada, and after a few sunny years as a primary school teacher in Melbourne, Melody and her husband, Jacob, were so entranced by the beauty and lifestyle of the Lakes District, that they relocated to Queenstown at the beginning of 2011. And just when she thought life couldn’t get any better, Melody was asked to join the Queenstown School of Dance where she has been sharing her passion for dance and teaching ever since.

Besides dancing, Melody is a yoga and hiking enthusiast.

In recent years Nicole has found a calling back to the stage this time in Musical Theatre.
