Anna Stuart

Anna spent many of her early years travelling with dance competitions and represented Christchurch in the New Zealand Nationals in both Tap and Jazz in the same year 1988. She won her first scholarship to train at the NZ School of Ballet at age 12.

Anna has an addiction to group fitness. She is a certified Les Mills Group Fitness Manager, and presently teaches body pump, body jam, body balance, covers body step and body combat and soon to return to RPM. Anna is also in the process of completing her Yoga diploma with the British Yoga Association. Her latest exciting mission is the creation of her 'Mini Groovers' syllabus for preschoolers.

In 2008 Anna completed training in 'Radiant Yoga' for children and 'PlayGym' early childhood movement. She is dedicated to finding innovative, creative and successful ways in which to teach pre-schoolers not only dance but also fundamental movement skills, within a fun dance class.

Anna moved to Queenstown in 2004 with no intention to dance again. But was swallowed up by a small town's need for a dance choreographer. She has since then choreographed Starry Eyed 2004-2007, Collective 2004, Hair 2005, Retromaniacs 2005, Cabaret 2006....

She became director of Flame Fire Productions in 2006. Choreographing and performing for the Queenstown Winter Festival Openings 2004, 2005 and 2006, AK05, Rock to Wellington and numerous corporate events and national festivals. Anna is not only a fire dancer but is also a certified indoor pyrotechnician. As things became too busy with juggling babies and dance school, Anna retired from Flame and has just recently opened her own company 'Anna Stuart Productions'. The first gig of which was on Waitangi weekend 'A.R.E.A 9'.
